"This time we've lost Dad" šŸ˜…

That's pretty much my children's reaction when I suggested they raise Iberian pigs AND sell the meat and cured meats online.

Let me explain why I believe in it:

1ļøāƒ£ Our olive grove is located in a region known for the quality of its Iberian pigs: ā€œLos Pedrochesā€ - protected designation of origin.

2ļøāƒ£ In terms of taste, it's one of the best meats in the world.

3ļøāƒ£ I am looking for pasture-raised meat for myself and my family so that it is healthy and rich in nutrients (omega 3,...)

So far, even my children agree. āœ…

It's the online sales aspect that makes them hesitate.

However, it is the only option that makes sense:

ā—ļøSelling to the cooperative like our neighbors would require 150 pigs to cover a salary—without any profit margin. That's not our model.

The same logic as with olive oil applies: sell directly to the consumer. Buying meat online isn't yet common practice, but I've found many farms and artisanal butchers who have been doing it successfully for years.

So we'll take it at our own pace. A few Iberian pigs to start with — for family and close friends. If it takes off, we'll expand.

In our family, it's often the children who keep their feet on the ground. šŸ˜„ We listen to them.
