Did you know that when you buy food in a supermarket, the farmer only receives 10% to 25% of the price you pay?

In the case of organic olive oil, Spanish farmers received €4.1 per liter from the cooperative in 2025 (the market price of olive oil). In stores, this same oil is sold for between €18 and €30 per liter. Farmers receive only a small fraction of the price you pay in supermarkets.
